FYZ Archiver, by FYCODZ • Last updated: 8 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FYZ Archiver ("the app", "we", "us"), a product of FYCODZ, handles information. FYZ Archiver is private by default: your files are processed entirely on your own device and are never uploaded to us.

1. Summary

  • We do not collect, upload, store, or access your files.
  • All compression, extraction, encryption, and deduplication happen 100% locally on your device.
  • We use no advertising, no analytics, no crash telemetry, and no third-party tracking.
  • The app makes outbound network requests to only two services: license activation/validation, and the anonymous free-tier usage counter. Both are listed in full in Section 2 below.

2. Network activity (the complete list)

To make our "no telemetry / 100% local file data" claim verifiable, this is the exhaustive list of every network request the app initiates. There are no others. Your files never leave your device.

  • License activation and validation. Endpoint: https://fyz-license-worker.fycodz.workers.dev (/activate, /validate, /deactivate, /recover). Sent only when you activate, re-validate, deactivate, or recover a license:
    • your license key (which you entered);
    • an anonymous device fingerprint - a one-way SHA-256 hash derived from your machine ID and user name, used only to bind the license to your device and enforce your plan's seat limit. It is not reversible and does not identify you personally;
    • for license recovery only, the email address you type into the recovery box, so we can re-send your key.
  • Free-tier usage counting. Endpoint: https://fyz-usage-worker.fycodz.workers.dev (/v1/usage/get, /v1/usage/add). Used only on the Free plan to enforce the trial allowance. Sent:
    • the same anonymous device fingerprint described above;
    • a byte count - the number of bytes you have compressed - so the server can keep a running total against the free allowance.
    No file names, no file contents, and nothing that identifies you personally are ever sent to this service.

Both services run on our own infrastructure. Paid and Enterprise plans do not contact the usage counter at all. Clicking a link inside the app (for example "Pricing" or "Privacy Policy") simply opens our website in your default browser; it sends no data about your files.

3. Files and content

FYZ Archiver reads and writes only the files you explicitly select. All compression, extraction, encryption, and cross-archive deduplication happen on your device only. Your file names, contents, and metadata are never transmitted to FYCODZ or any third party.

Cross-archive deduplication (an optional feature that stores blocks shared between your archives only once) works entirely on your device. It splits data into variable-length blocks using Content-Defined Chunking (Rabin fingerprinting) and identifies duplicate blocks by a local content hash. The shared-block store never leaves your machine and is never sent to us.

4. Licensing information

If you purchase the Lifetime plan, licenses are issued and validated by our own license server (fyz-license-worker.fycodz.workers.dev, see Section 2). The license key and its validation data are stored locally, encrypted using the Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI). Payments are processed by our payments provider, Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record; we never receive your payment card details. See the Paddle Privacy Policy.

5. Free-tier usage counter

The Free plan includes a one-time trial allowance of 1024 MB (1 GB) of compression, counted cumulatively across all archive formats combined. To enforce this allowance, the app keeps a cumulative byte counter that is synchronised with our anonymous usage service (fyz-usage-worker.fycodz.workers.dev, see Section 2). The data transmitted is your anonymous device fingerprint plus a numeric byte total only - no file names, no contents, and nothing that identifies you personally. Extraction is always free and is never counted or gated. Paid and Enterprise plans do not use this counter.

6. Payments

Purchases are processed by Paddle, acting as Merchant of Record. You provide your payment and billing details directly to Paddle on their secure checkout page. FYCODZ does not see or store this information. After a purchase, we use the email address associated with your order solely to deliver and recover your license key.

7. Data we do not collect

Beyond the license and usage data described in Sections 2, 4, and 5, we do not collect your name, IP address, location, contacts, usage analytics, crash telemetry, or advertising identifiers through the app. If you purchase a paid plan, we process the email address associated with your purchase solely to deliver and recover your license key - never for marketing.

8. Children

FYZ Archiver is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your rights

We hold only your license records (license key, device identifiers, and purchase email) on our license server; payment records are held by Paddle and are subject to their privacy practices. You may deactivate your license at any time within the app, and manage or cancel your subscription through the Paddle customer portal (a link is included in your purchase confirmation email).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.

11. Governing law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
